July is really showing off this weekend. We've got outdoor cinema under the stars at Chatelherault, a proper community festival in the East End, and even a glow-in-the-dark puppet show if you fancy something a bit different.

🎬 Adventure Cinema: Outdoor Cinema at Chatelherault

Pack a picnic, grab a blanket and settle in for movies under the sky at Chatelherault. Saturday's Encanto Sing-A-Long is a brilliant one for families, and Sunday morning kicks off with Bing and pals for the wee ones — perfect and relaxed. Later showings include Mamma Mia, Jurassic Park and more if you're planning a grown-up night too.

🎪 Barrowfield Festival

A five-day community festival wrapping up on Friday with a mix of sports, arts and family fun. A lovely low-key way to kick off the weekend in the East End, and it's completely free.

🦖 Designosaurs – Summer at Glasgow Science Centre

Dinosaurs meet design at the Science Centre this summer. Build your own dino, mess about with over 300 interactive exhibits, catch a live science show and finish up in the planetarium. Easily a full day out if the weather turns.

🎡 All The Fun Of The Fair

Free drop-in craft sessions at the Riverside with a fairground twist. This weekend the kids can make a thaumatrope — a wee spinning toy that creates its own mini movie. Great for a rainy afternoon or as an easy add-on to a Riverside visit.

🎮 Glasgow Independent Games Festival

Scotland's biggest indie games event is back at Barras Art and Design. Play loads of unreleased and upcoming titles, try out some quirky alternative controllers, and catch live videogame soundtracks performed by The GG's. Great for older kids and teens who are properly into gaming.

🕹️ PLAY Expo Glasgow

The biggest wrestling show of the summer lands in Rutherglen. WWE legend Eugene is on the card alongside local favourites like Manky Frankie and Nick Justice, plus photos and autographs after the show. A big night out for wrestling-mad big bairns.
