🦩 Flamingo Beach at Silverburn

Silverburn's summer staple is back, and it's free indoor sand-and-sunshine vibes for the wee ones. Perfect for a rainy-day backup or a quick post-shop play to wear them out. Open every day from now till late August, so no pressure to cram it all in.

🏍️ Glasgow Tigers Speedway

Loud, fast and absolutely thrilling — four riders, no brakes, elbow-to-elbow round an oval track. There's a kids' running race, Roary the Tiger mascot fun, and under-12s go free, so it's a brilliant first big night out. Pack ear defenders for the littlest ones.

🦖 Jurassic Lanark

Lanark's been overrun — 25 giant dinos are hiding round the town centre and Castlebank Park, and your crew can hunt them down on either the Monster Trail or the bite-sized Mini Trail. Complete one (or both) to bag a Jurassic Lanark badge. Pop into Castlebank Park between 11am and 3pm for free ranger-led activities and a photo with Fergus the T-Rex.

🎪 Bishopton Day

Classic gala day energy — live music, dance academies, family races, food trucks and a big array of local stalls. Furry friends welcome too, so the family dog gets a day out as well. A lovely easy Saturday afternoon.

🛍️ Bungo in the Back Lanes

Strathbungo's much-loved street sale takes over the lanes between Nithsdale Road and Thorncliffe Gardens. Expect bric-a-brac, homemade bakes, kids' lemonade stalls, and the odd shed full of antiques. Bring cash and a tote bag — you'll definitely come home with something.

🎡 Cumbernauld Gala Day

The full gala day works — parade, stalls, live entertainment, funfair rides and games. Organised by a small army of local volunteers and shaping up to be the biggest one yet. Great for a wander with the whole clan.

🎶 Forever Young – Family Rave Day

🎧 Free Silent Disco with Gill from Ya Dancer

☀️ Helensburgh Midsummer Festival

A lovely two-day celebration in the square with market stalls, street food, live music and funfair rides. Pair it with a paddle at the seafront and you've got a proper midsummer day out. Worth the trip down the coast.

🏎️ Paisley CarFest

Paisley town centre fills up with vintage cars, supercars and American classics, plus a load of free kids' rides — bumper cars, tea cups, a kart simulator and a Children's Grand Prix. Add in face painters, a balloon modeller and live music and it's a proper free day out. Bonus: handy for last-minute Father's Day gifts at the market.

🦸 Rutherglen Comic Con

A brand-new comic-focused event at the gorgeous Rutherglen Town Hall, with artists, comic dealers, indie creators and zine-makers. There's a new Excelsior Comic Awards too, and guest talks happening next door at the library. One for your comic-obsessed big bairns.
