We've got Highland Games on Bute, roaming dinosaurs in Kirkintilloch, a Supertato livestream for the wee ones and even a Toy Story party to see out the summer holidays in style.

🎪 Kirkintilloch Big Weekend

Three days of live music, food stalls, classic cars and — wait for it — roaming dinosaurs right in the middle of town. It's free, it's buzzy, and there's more than enough to fill an afternoon (or three). A brilliant excuse to wander, snack and let the kids loose.

🥁 Bute Highland Games

Hop on the ferry for a proper Scottish day out. Pipe bands, Highland dancers, heavy athletes tossing cabers and even a bit of shinty — it's a full dose of island magic. Pack a picnic and make a day of it.

🎶 David Livingstone Music Festival – Live at Livvies

Six live acts, a kids' talent show kicking things off at 11:30am, and tickets that won't break the bank (£5 for a family of four — yes, really). A lovely low-key way to spend a summer Saturday with the whole clan.

🏉 Hamilton Rugby Club Family Festival

Inflatables, live music, food trucks, festival games and actual live rugby — this one's got proper end-of-summer energy. The Bulls BBQ is a big shout too, if you're feeling peckish.

🎨 Elderslie Summer Fayre

A lovely local afternoon with inflatables, lawn games, face painting and stalls for a wee browse. Grab a wristband, let the kids have the run of it, and finish up with the raffle at 4pm.

🥔 Supertato Silliness with Paul Linnet Livestream

Supertato fans, this one's for you. Author Paul Linnet is livestreaming from the Edinburgh International Book Festival to celebrate the new book, Supertato: Despicable Bean. Free, fun and perfect for a lazy Saturday morning.

🦖 The Science of Jurassic Park

One for older kids and dino-obsessed grown-ups. Paleontology expert Dr Steve Brusatte (yes, the guy who consulted on Jurassic World) chats real dinosaurs and film science, followed by Jurassic Park on Scotland's biggest screen in IMAX 3D. Absolute treat.
