🥘 The Queen's Park Food Festival

Brand-new for 2026 and looking like an absolute belter. Expect street food from all over, live music, a cookery theatre, artisan markets, and proper family entertainment — magicians, stilt walkers, circus workshops and (yes really) banana jousting. Grab a deckchair, grab a snack, settle in.

🎶 1994 Family Fun Summer Rave

Oldskool anthems, party games and absolutely no teachers allowed. Upstairs is the main rave room with DJs, face paints and balloon modellers; downstairs is calmer for younger ravers with a bouncy castle and ball pit. Best for ages 3+ and guaranteed to wear them out.

🌳 Forest Babies

A gentle 50-minute outdoor session for mums and babies (0–24 months), with sensory play, mindful moments, and zero pressure. Babies can sleep, cry, feed or explore — mums are welcome exactly as they are. Lovely if you fancy a calmer pace.

🔬 Glasgow Science Festival

The festival's 20th birthday and it's running across venues all over the city. Weekend highlights include Dogs with Jobs at Kelvin Hall on Friday — exploring how assistance and sniffer dogs use science every day. Almost all events are free, so well worth a browse.

⚽ ACCORD Summer Fayre

A free family day with a World Cup twist, celebrating Scotland's qualification (get in!). Expect Beat the Goalie, face painting, home baking, stalls and a tea room to refuel. Pop your Scotland colours on and head down.

🚂 Glasgow Toy, Train & Sci-Fi Fair

220+ tables of vintage and new toys, models and collectables — Hornby, Lego, Star Wars, Funko Pops, comics, the lot. A brilliant rainy-Sunday-back-up plan, with a cafe on site and free parking. Cash is recommended for entry.

🐄 Houston Agricultural Show

A proper country day out — cattle, sheep and heavy horses being judged, plus show jumping and cross country all day. There's also Houston's Got Talent, craft and baking entries to nosey at, and loads to keep the kids busy. Great if your crew love big animals and big fields.

Traditional Highland Games with all the classics — caber tossing, hammer throwing, Highland dancing and races for all ages. Food stalls, craft stands and a free shuttle bus from the swimming pool car park make it easy. A brilliant family day out by the water.

🎺 Kilbarchan Lilias Day

A 300-year-old village tradition with a parade of pipe bands, decorated floats and historic costumes through Kilbarchan. The party lands in the public park with a tug of war, music tent, food village, dog show and medieval village. A proper community day.
